I think it would have been ok if the director hadn’t been fucking obsessed with Gemma Arterton’s arse. That and it managed to be a film about vampires by Neil Jordan with so little humour or anything enjoyable in. It made twilight look like the today show.
Anyway, she was forced to be a prostitute from the age of god 12 I think. And has an abuse Madam and an even worse patron. But even when she escapes them, she spends the next 200 years carrying on doing it. Despite seeming to hate it.
It seemed to sexualise her in a really uncomfortable way, it would have her in sexy underwear as much as humanly possible, like lets have a chase scene in a thong. YAY! Also she was shown using her sex to get things all the time, not her brain which she seemed to have.
And oh my god. I have no idea where they got her costumes from, no sex workers I know would wear any of that shit because it was tacky as hell and seemed to come from IFuckForMoney.com. Seriously.
Urgh and then the end of the story was the guy who fucked her life up and did nothing about it for 200 years turning up and being like ‘yo can I live with you?’ and that was seen as a good thing.
Oh my god how does shit like this still get made seriously.

Yes. As I was just ranting about on another post, look at the punishment for raping a virgin (who as we all know are more valuable than non-virgins, and probably fart candyfloss). Never mind that the victim gets no justice, nor even any financial compensation (although her dad does so I guess that’s ok somehow?), the rapist gets no punishment because he gets a wife to rape whenever he feels like and cook meals for him. And it all works out for the victim because at least she’s not going to end up single because her entire value as a woman is ruined.

Donna was my absolute favourite companion, even though some of her episodes weren’t particularly well-written. She didn’t take shit from anyone, not even the Doctor, and she just had these huge reserves of strength that she didn’t even know about. I want to go and watch a load of Donna episodes now.

I think my reply if someone said it to me would've been "Hodor". I've never seen you list what kind of metal or bands you're into. I'm on a Bathory kick right now but Tristania, Therion and Epica are my core sort of music, with Amon Amarth and Old Man's Child type stuff filling out the rest.
Sorry it took me a while to reply to this, I mostly tumbl on my phone and the app doesn’t do messages. I used to be really into black metal, and still really love Dimmu Borgir, Emperor and Immortal, but what I mostly listen to nowadays is thrash. I really love Megadeth (who I’m going to see tonight), Kreator, Evile, Warbringer, Testament, Metallica and a bunch of other stuff too. Not really a fan of Slayer or Anthrax though. I also really love Arch Enemy, Nightwish, Amon Amarth, Chthonic, Judas Priest, and Manowar. I do like loads of other bands but those are the bands I listen to most
